Thank you so much for this info! I was just chewing my husband's ear off about the frustration I've had finding the right combo of perennials & ground cover for a sunny, wind-blown garden. I refuse to spend my whole summer weeding again!

I will be at the open house to check it all out. It just can't come soon enough!

I agree; just need to find the snowshoes first. One of the beautiful things about our area is that there are views near and far to appreciate once you step outside the front door. Oh, and wear your earmuffs, too!

Did you catch the fog coming off the snow yesterday? The air was so cold, the snow was "warm" enough to create the fog. Gorgeous.

I agree with you there! It is so easy to open the backdoor, head out and return easily without ever leaving the property!
It is fun to look at the animal tracks in the yard and imagine which critters were out before me taking in the wide expanse of snow covered land.

Something else to do in the winter months:
The Mt. Morris Dam Visitor Center hosts a series of free lectures every Saturday at 1:00 pm. This program is organized and run by volunteers with all of the speakers also volunteering their time and talents. This year's theme is "Proud to be an American" and tomorrow's lecture is by Austin Hancock discussing the 1941 Historic Aircraft Group based in Geneseo.

Just one thing. You must be talking about Canandaigua Lake, rather than Seneca Lake as mentioned above. The Town and City of Canandaigua is on Canandaigua Lake.

Great choice for a lovely spot to spend time. I have to admit that we don't go down to the park in the cooler weather- the wind can be quite brisk in this neighborhood- but have to agree that it is a beautiful place to be.
