Blackfriars Theatre, Rochester, opens their production of “Tom Foolery,” a revue based on the on the biting political and social satirist, Tom Lehrer. Adults will remember Lehrer's little ditties from back in the late 50's and early to mid 60's. He poked fun at everything from atom bombs, to rocket scientists, to masochistic dances, and even the Vatican fell under the lash of his sarcastic wit. Not too shabby for a tenured Harvard mathematics professor.
The original production of this show premiered in London in 1980. Blackfriars' production opens this coming Saturday, December 3, and is running in rotation with another show, “The Santaland Diaries,” by David Sedaris.
