put your hands to work learning papermaking

The Hornell Area Family YMCA is offering a one-day workshop to demonstrate papermaking and making handmade books on Saturday, October, 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Art Studio.

The workshop is free of charge, and all supplies are included. Participants are encouraged to bring a snack or light lunch. The workshop is open to teen and adult participants 14 years of age and older.

This hands-on workshop, led by instructor Elizabeth Blomster, will teach participants to make their own paper and art books and offer methods for papermaking at home.

Participants are encouraged to wear old clothes or a smock, as papermaking can be messy.

Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged, although participants may register the day of the workshop. Participants should contact the YMCA at (607) 324-5520 to register or visit www.hornellymca.com.
