need to be scared a bit or feel the urge to stomp grapes?

The fourth annual Falls Harvest Festival will be held Saturday, October 15, from 1-8 p.m. in downtown Montour Falls, will feature grape-stomping, pie-eating, pumpkin-carving and scarecrow competitions.

There will also be a classic car show, and a petting zoo with goats, miniature horses and alpacas. There will be a “Kids’ Zone” and an inflatable castle for kids to bounce on, and there will be a demonstration by chainsaw sculptor Mark Watson. There will be food, craft and farm vendors, as well as adult beverages.

There will also be live music throughout the day, including a concert by The Joe Crookston Trio from 5-8 p.m.

The day will be capped off by a fireworks display over the 156-foot-high Shequagua Falls.

Carved pumpkins and scarecrows can be brought to the main tent Saturday and registered for prizes.

Registrations for the car show are being accepted in advance.

The festival is presented by Watkins Glen Promotions. For more details, go to or call 535-3003.
