local rochester author speaks about book based on canandaigua lake

The Books Sandwiched In program at Brighton Memorial Library, 2300 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, presents Ilie Ruby, author of The Language of Trees, 12:10 p.m. Thursday, October 6.

According to her website, www.ilieruby.com, Ruby grew up in Rochester and spent her summers on Canandaigua Lake, the setting for her debut novel. She also has made documentaries in Central America, taught in Los Angeles and written two children's books.
