east coast seafood and grub for land lubbers

As The Pelican's Net restaurant, Route 54, Hammondsport, says themselves, "We're casual to somewhat fancy."
I'll add to that, "It's not diner food at all."
I stopped for lunch and had a delicious cup of chicken and mushroom soup in a broth that was outstanding. My husband had the oyster po'boy on a bun with cole slaw. We will definitely return for a seafood dinner soon!
The newly opened and remodeled restaurant specializes in calbash, clam bakes and barbeque. The breads and pastries are baked on-site, too.
It is directly across the road from the Finger Lakes Beer Company.
