Today I must clean off the dining room table of all its accumulated books and papers leaving it bare to the wood. That is one of the good things about having company for dinner-a chance to organize and clean with a purpose.
Tax papers are ready to be filed for another year; travel brochures can be sorted and recycled. Don't you think that it is time to throw out the assortment of Christmas cards I collected in the basket?
I don't suppose the table will mind either shedding some of its weary heaviness and bringing a little light to rest on its surface.
