mothers desiring perfection

The natural way of mothers is the
waiting game.

              Listening
for the cooing signal ending
            baby naptime.

             Anticipating
               a child
arriving home
       from
Kindergarten.

               Counting
       days for the start of
a college vacation.

               Sharing
         a brief weekend
          with a career adult.

         Early bonding
keeps the connectedness
          from unsticking
              when time
    separates more and more.

      Mothers are good at it.
Waiting, that is.
