bell ringing to honor 150th anniversary of the civil war

In honor of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, the Livingston County Historian’s office in conjunction with the town historians will be organizing an annual event over the next four years to commemorate this hallmark event.
To raise awareness of the significance of this era and the impact on the home front, the first event will be a countywide bell-ringing event on Tuesday, April 12 at 10 a.m. Dozens of churches, schools, and individuals in every corner of the county have agreed to ring bells for two minutes to mark the beginning of the four-year war that bitterly divided the nation.
