early springtime thoughts

There's nothing like a walk in early spring where the sounds of water trickling from rooftops and their gushing counterparts from culverts commence the drying up of the earth. No wonder the pungent odors of mud and dirt carried by the light winds from all directions bathe me in the glory of the earth's rebirth once again. I marvel at the season, and wonder when I will see the bulbs in my new garden poke their heads upward. My thoughts As I poke around in the drier parts of the yard, my thoughts lift me happily to all the hours that I will soon spend outside, the place that I most like to be.
