the parker house...a b&b in a restored church

When Paula Parker acquired the former Wallace Methodist Church her plan was to turn the sanctuary into a facility for special events such as weddings and parties.
Three years later and the place is in operation after much work from Parker getting things in shape to accomodate guests. The historic ambiance  has been preserved from the dark wooden door frames to the  narrow arched windows. A circular star stained glass window stands out near the ceiling in the former pulpit area. The  high tin ceilings are part of the charm that  lends for a unique gathering place.
Two guest rooms in the former Sunday School wing are decorated in country charm. The Belle Rose Room and Shelly's Room are both named after church members from the past. They are right off the large spacious, dining/living room which once served as the church fellowship hall.
There is more than a little sentimentality tucked into the structure as Parker and her three daughters attended the Wallace church themselves. Their friends and fellow community people were members  together in this small rural town on Route 415 in the town of Avoca  a short distance from  Bath.
