february mini-gallery reception in hornell features local artisan

The February Artist of the Month at Steuben Trust in Hornell is Penny Mehlenbacher. Penny  was raised on a dairy farm in nearby Almond. She grew up in the 1960’s and 70’s with animals and nature as her playground.
Her “canvas” is always recycled and reused wood, stone or even a wall. Penny’s flowers come from her garden, the natural world and sometimes the garbage. She uses a gloss medium and existing images. These might include photos and prints, which are cut and arranged to make a new piece.
The reception for the Art of Penny Mehlenbacher will be held at Steuben Trust Bank on February 10,   4-6 pm.
