one candle year later and the ember still burns brightly

Chances are in this economy  a restaurant has to be very, very good to last through the first year. Congratulations to the Ember Woodfire Grill in Livonia minutes from Conesus Lake for a strong showing!
It was hopping last evening with a crowd of people both at the bar and in the restaurant area when I popped in with family from out of town to show off a Finger Lakes treasure. The building interior is so unique, and it all works nicely together blending the old train station with a modern addition.
We chose to do the tapas, or sharing menu, accompanied by house wine and beer. Our waitress was etrememly knowledgeable, and guided us through the choices in order  that we would have the proper amount of eats. -And, we did, too. Our table was piled with Mediterranean pizza cooked in the woodfire oven,  a bundle of chicken wings with traditional sauce, fresh  tuna with garnishes and of course, old-fashioned mac and cheese for comfort food. What a variety of food that came from the kitchen at the proper intervals for us to  appreciate together along with some great conversation. To me, that is what meals are all about!
Our waitress gently nudged us to try the homemade peppermint ice cream-yum!- and oatmeal cake, which was also mouth watering.
All in all, our experience was perfect in every way, and by the happy faces on everyone there, it is definitely a lovely restaurant that will be around for a long, long time.
