I love that quirky comedy "You Can't Take It With You" by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, and last evening I had a chance to see a credible high school performance in Wayland. Director Marj Hitt cast it perfectly, and even though many of the actors were newbies, it worked nicely. A strong performance by Johnny Kelly as Grandpa Vanderhof makes me wonder if he would do well training for professional acting. After watching him as Radar last year in "Mash", I am very, very impressed with his exceptional skills. Alex Decker had loads of fun with his role as the Russian, Boris Kolenkhov, and he commanded the stage well.
There is one more performance tonight, Saturday, December 4th, 7 pm. in the high school auditorium. You won't be sorry spending precious weekend time there!
