honoring kwanzaa celebrations all week

The celebration of Kwanzaa, the African-American cultural holiday whose name means "First Fruits of the Harvest," continues this week. Each day represents one of the nguzo saba or seven principles that honors the family and community and celebrates the present, remembers the past and plans for the future.
All the incredible cultural diversity around us in the Finger Lakes leads to opportunities for  a more global perspective on life. Reaching beyond our own traditions and honoring those of others is what is intended for us as citizens of the world.
