start the summer in Penn Yan

Last year I ran across an easily manageable arts festival in Penn Yan that made for a thoroughly enjoyable day.
By "easily manageable" I mean that at the boat launch park and outlet trail you can meander in and out among artisan vendors and partake in delicious cuisine from a variety of local restaurants without throngs of people like at the larger ones. Not that this festival doesn't deserve a large crowd because it is well worth it.

There are some wine tasting opportunities, too. All this within a scenic setting along the waterway with parking readily available by boat or car.

One of my favorite artisans, Kayla Stein, will be there with her gorgeous pottery.

I started off the morning with brunch at the Essenhaus and had some delicious French toast dusted with cinnamon.
