calling all gardeners, pie-bakers....tasters,too
On June 12th the Wayland Historical Society offers two unusual opportunities promising a fun-filled day!
First, there will be a garden viewing of the Historic Rowe House ( Villa Landino), and then there will be a heritage pie bake-off and public pie tasting event at the museum.
You can view the gardens that have been restored by the Landinos from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. The home has been put on the National Register of Historic Places in June 2008. Garden viewing tickets are five dollars. Rain date is June 13th.
To receive complete rules for the pie bake-off and pick up a pie tin, call Ginny at 585-728-5252; Helen at 585-728-5108; Thelma at 585-728-2120.
The grand finale of the afternoon will be a public pie-tasting directly after the contest judging is over at 3:15PM. Winners will be announced. Pie will be served with English Tea, coffee or a cold drink for five dollars.
If you have never been to the Wayland Historical Society, it houses an amazing, well-presented display of local artifacts. Open hours are limited, so check ahead.
