Lambs Creek Food and Spirits- A Gateway to the Hidden Lakes of PA

"It's a little bit fancy with a perfect atmosphere for a pleasant meal," says the brochure.

That's the way I would describe the Lambs Creek Food and Spirits, 200 Gateway Drive, Mansfield, PA, located a big stone's throw from the Comfort Inn off US 15. Usually when you are "on the road" you don't find such a unique place near a chain motel. It tends to be the "same old, same old national brands", so this was a nice surprise.

I had a delicious broiled salmon with asparagus on a bed of mashed potatoes, and my husband had a baked haddock with a Ritz cracker crust. He said that the homemade macaroni and cheese was a good side dish. A loaf of warm bread with honey garlic butter was placed on the table, too. Unfortunately the wine list did not include any neighboring NY FInger Lakes wines, but the beer choices were more varied.

When we feel comfortable in a spacious restaurant we tend to stay longer, and our server was very engaging while we relaxed over freshly brewed coffee.
