On the Road Again: Good Eats
Between Bath and Hammondsport on Rt 54 there is an adobe building with distinctive South of the Border architecture that stands out from all the others on the highway. It’s the San Carlos Mexican Restaurant, and definitely worth stopping by for lunch or dinner.
This is real Mexican food well prepared and presented by a pleasing, friendly wait staff. The owner is from San Carlos on the Baja Peninsula, and thus the name of the place. He comes to chat with diners at each table giving a hearty hello. You can tell that he is proud of his establishment, and is anxious for you to have a good dining experience.
Located on the Sea of Cortez, the lovely Mexican resort community of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico offers something for everyone. You might say the same for the San Carlos Restaurant. Whether you have a large or small appetite, prefer chicken to beef in your tamales, and desire the waiter to guide you in making just the right selection, you will not be disappointed!
